Spotify has started rolling out a new podcast clip-sharing feature that lets users save and share specific moments from podcast episodes directly inside the app. The update is now available for both Free and Premium users on mobile, although Spotify says support will expand gradually across more shows over time.
The new feature adds a scissor icon inside the Now Playing screen while listening to a podcast. Once users tap it, Spotify opens a clip creation interface where they can choose the exact moment they want to keep or share with others. The company says listeners can trim the beginning and end of a clip before saving it.
Spotify adds a dedicated clips section
Spotify also introduced a new “Your clips” folder inside the “Your Library” tab, which stores saved podcast clips in one place. Users can revisit these clips later or add them directly to podcast playlists without searching through entire episodes again.
Spotify says users can share clips through Spotify Messages or send them to other platforms using the updated sharing menu. The company also supports sharing full episodes, chapters, timestamps, and clips from the same menu, making the process much faster for listeners who regularly share podcast recommendations.
Spotify says clips help listeners return to memorable podcast moments more often while also helping creators reach new audiences through shares and saved clips. According to the company, podcast chapters are already being saved and added to playlists more than 2 million times every month, while early testing showed higher podcast saving activity when clips were enabled.
Spotify confirmed that podcast clips support both audio and video podcasts, although availability still depends on the show and rollout region.
